Sustainability Manifesto HCE

Vision

HCE is a family club with healthy ambitions. We have been that for over 100 years. And we want to remain that for a long time to come.

One of our healthy ambitions is to make the hockey club more sustainable. With this we want to ensure that future generations can enjoy the beautiful sport of hockey, our rich club life and our sporty sports environment. That is why we have an active sustainable policy.

Pillars

Our vision is based on two pillars that strongly connect us as a family club with sustainability:

1. Preventing waste
   Preventing waste fits in with our healthy ambition to win instead of losing, also outside the field. We find it important to handle our accommodation, our materials, our members and volunteers and our beautiful sporting environment with care. That is why we focus on preserving raw materials and keeping them circulating for as long as possible. But our members and volunteers must also feel sustainably at home with our association so that no talent and energy of volunteers is lost to our club.
2. Stimulating awareness 
   Stimulating awareness fits the character of us as a family club. We find it important to learn from and with each other, to grow together, to address each other and thus to realize our ambitions together. This club culture helps us to face future challenges for our association together.

Sustainability September 2024

Before the summer, we met online with a number of people to think about how we can make our club more sustainable.

Last week we sat together again to draw up a concrete roadmap with our short/long-term sustainability vision on the topics of water, health, waste, materials, and biodiversity and what else the club needs.

We looked at where the club is now and what steps can be taken in the short term? What is the long-term vision?

Below is the roadmap that we want to roll out.
